David And Roxxie

“David take the dog for a walk” Ema exclaimed. So David grabbed the dog leash, got Roxxie the riled up rottweiler hooked up and took him for a walk. They left off towards the forest, strolled along the dry dirty track which led up to the dark forest.

Roxxie dragged David along ,as Roxxie weighed 10 kgs more than David.  They got deeper into the forest the winds started blowing harder, branches fell off trees and Roxxie pulled till the leash nearly snapped. David Felt scared and nervous. All of a sudden there was a whisper “David David” the dog stopped heaving  .David spun round and round looking for someone whispering his name, When really it was Roxxie. Roxxie could talk!

The winds died down and Roxxie stopped whispering . David was relieved because he just thought he was delusional , he thought it was just the trees whistling in the wind. But really he had a talking dog. David and Roxxie  then made it back to the house without a care in the world.

Eagle vs Squirrel

Soaring through the thick cloud an eagle hurdled towards Earth. It swooped down and picked up a squirrel. I watched from the park bench helplessly as the eagle flew back up. I thought to myself “that’s just the circle of life”.

A few minutes later the eagle was back. “Back for another bite” I mumbled. It looked like it was going to hit the ground it gained speed plunging downwards. I saw a small figure on his back, it was the squirrel.

It was actually controlling the bird.

The squirrel jumped off the eagle and got in a fighting position. It scratched the eagle in the face and the eagles eye fell out and rolled along the stony footpath. The squirrel jumped on the eagles back and clawed him to the death. And the squirrel lived happily ever after.

Halloween

HALLOWEEN

Halloween all started when the christians tried to put a positive spin to pagan festivals. For example lemuria, Lemuria may 13 was christianised and turned into all saints day and then it was moved 1st of november and was turned into all hallows day, the day before was called all hallows evening and was shortened to halloween on the 31st of october. So Halloween actually is a christianised version of Lumeria

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a celebration only celebrated in  the U.S and Canada ,although it is not celebrated on the same day it is for the same purpose. For giving thanks to the harvest and of the preceding year.

In the U.S it’s celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November but in Canada they celebrate thanksgiving on the second Monday of October.

In canada it is a compulsory holiday in all of the provinces except for New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Even though businesses can stay open in these provinces a lot of people still celebrate it in those places.

Thanksgiving is normally celebrated by having a huge meal which normally consists of a turkey, peas,corn,potatoes,pumpkin pie and much more. People usually get the whole family including aunts,uncles,grandparents and of course your normal family.

Auckland vs Syria

The writing in the black is an Auckland kids life. The red is the life of a Syrian kid.

“OMG” I said as I pressed the snooze button on my alarm. Ten minutes later “Beep Beep Beep”. It was time to get up. I walked into the kitchen and was greeted by the sweet smell of bacon and eggs. I sat down and stuffed my face with a delicious platter of  B&E.

I woke up to the horrifying sound of gunshots. The ground was not a comfortable place to sleep all nine hours of the night. I got up out of the tent to the intimidating sight of dead bodies. “Will this be my day to die”? I said to myself.

I brushed my teeth and washed my face, then I got into the car and drove to school. It’s about a 5-10 min drive to school. I got out of the car and went to class. ”sup bro” I said to my friend.

“Go to work, we need the money” my brother said. So I started my 45min journey to the hospital to work as a surgeon assistant to earn one dollar a hour, just to get me a snack. I got to work greeted by a huge line of injured patients wanting meds and surgery. Some didn’t even have limbs.

At school I do learning on our netbooks and multi-media. My favourite subject in school is maths. We do P.E. and after our lunch time. During lunch I ate a chicken roll, chocolate milk and it was delicious. The lunch bell rung and I went and played.

“Get to work” the surgeon said “Yes” I whimpered back. I started handing out meds to the patients. Many patients grabbed me and begged me for surgery. As hard as it was I had to refuse.

I made my way home after another casual day at school. Another ten minute drive back home.I got myself home and plonked myself on the couch with a bag of chips. That night I had  pork belly for dinner and fell asleep without a care in the world.

I walked home dodging falling buildings with only five dollars in my pocket. I found a lady selling apples on the side of the road I bought four. When I arrived I  gave two apples to my brother. That night I cried myself to sleep.
